Pristine Luxury Camps
Relax and delights in the jungle
Having enjoyed the Pristine experience in Salinas Grandes, as soon as we heard about the opening of its twin in Iguazú, we made a reservation to experience the proposal in its Misiones version.
In the middle of the Paraná rainforest, this luxury reserve offers a hyper-personalized service experience in its six hut-style suites, built with sustainable architecture that has no impact on the land. In addition, the project promotes the development of the communities by including locals in its team; in Puerto Libertad they even implemented a hotel school for hospitality training, which is very remarkable.
We were picked up from the Iguazu Falls International Airport and after an exclusive transfer that took less than an hour we arrived at the Luxury Camps, immersed in the Puerto Bemberg Natural Reserve.
It was time for a snack, so we immediately began the tasting of flavors that would mark that long weekend in December. Delicacies in the four meals included in the booking, highlighting above all the options that feature the typical flavors of the area, such as -of course- the chipita or the M'bejú.
The lunches offered several options in a three-step sequence. In the evenings, the proposal was complemented by the intermissions, appetizers and pre-dessert, always paired with wines presented by the passionate Lucas, who generously shared all his expertise and urged us to get to know new labels.
Our favorites were all of them, absolutely all. The Paraguayan soup, the chipa guazú, the dorado presented in the catch of the day, the delicious tenderloin, the incomparable homemade pasta, we even tried the gourmet version of borí borí, the icon of rural Guaraní gastronomy. It was impossible to choose just one because everything we tasted was superlative.
After dinner, we toasted by the light of the bonfire that is lit every night at seven o'clock in the evening, next to the swimming pool.
We stayed in the Premium Suite, which in addition to being spacious and comfortable inside, offers a large deck with an outdoor swimming pool that we enjoyed every time we could; all with a wonderful view of the Paraná River.
In the afternoons, after contemplating the beautiful sunsets of the coast, it was tempting to take immersion baths with foams in the bathtub overlooking the jungle.
Pristine Luxury Camps' proposal includes activities in the wildlife reserve, such as hiking trails. Cristian guided us to the Guatambú waterfall, where we recovered our energy with fruit snacks presented in a nice picnic. And particularly extraordinary was the navigation on the Paraná River to the wonderful Salto Yasy, one of the hidden jewels of Misiones province, which is not easy to access. There, David, our amusing guide, urged us to jump into the water and enjoy a swim just meters away from the huge waterfall.
On three-night stays, a half-day visit to the Iguazu Falls on the Argentine side is foreseen. So early in the morning we set off for the national park to visit both the lower circuit and the upper circuit to be enraptured once again by its beauty. We had already visited the Iguazu Falls on a land trip through Misiones province, but we were still amazed by the power of the water and the majesty of the landscape. The large number of visitors to the park became a bit of a nuisance at times, but both David and Gabriel, the park's registered guide, did their best to make the tour as comfortable as possible for our small Pristine group.
Back at the reserve, we didn't hesitate to take the classes the outfitter offers to anyone who signs up. So, we took a cooking class to learn how to make the famous chipita, with manioc starch, butter and lots and lots of cheese of course. We also enjoyed the tea and yerba mate classes where we learned about the growing local production.
The wine tasting by Lucas, just before dinner, was unique, to continue learning about cutting-edge Argentine wineries.
In short, hospitality, comfort, relaxation, -in our case- a little bit of adventure and a very outstanding gastronomy are the impressions we took away from our experience at Pristine Luxury Camps. As we said goodbye to the team, in addition to our eternal gratitude for their special dedication, we expressed our conviction to visit the new opening in Patagonia, Pristine Luxury Camps El Calafate.
When a chain works in pursuit of a first-class product, and succeeds, it is inevitable for the traveler not to be tempted by the guarantee of an escape of pure comfort and flavor.
