Artisans and Producers San Pedro Nolasco de los Molinos
On a visit to the town of Molinos, it is worthwhile to go to Finca Entre Ríos, across the Luracatao River, to see a beautiful old mansion dating from 1870, which houses a center of textile artisans highly representative of the Calchaquí Valleys.
The singular front is composed of a large gallery with a colonial style colonnade in which a massive green door -characteristic of the whole town- welcomes the visitor.
Large exhibition rooms with high ceilings, reddish brick floors and thick adobe walls contain extraordinary works made in loom, particularly the carpets and tapestries, but especially the ponchos from Salta.
Next, there is the oratory of the Alféreces de San Pedro Nolasco and Candelaria Virgin, patron saint of the town.
In the artisans' center there is also a vicuña farm, whose wool is one of the most precious for traditional textiles, llamas and sheep. Thus, it is mandatory to visit the corrals of the friendly native animals before leaving.
Recently it also began to offer lodging services. In high season it is a very convenient option for those going to or coming from Colomé or Tacuil wineries.
