Breakfast at Quebrada del Toro

Sometimes the destination is just the occasion

Sometimes the destination is just the occasion to indulge in a tasty Italian coffee, a couple of macarons and a tremendous view of the Mirador Bridge, its big brother's Rio Toro Bridge, or any place you can find for a picnic.

It's just a matter of leaving the comfort of the usual to give yourself the opportunity to savor breakfast on a sunny Saturday, 15 minutes from the city of Salta.

The word picnic has French origins (pique-nique) and refers to a meal or snack taken in the countryside or other open space. Discard the idea of the great feast: prepare a coffee or tea, arrange something sweet to go with it and that's it, you just need the determination to do it!

Macaron, on the other hand, is a traditional French sweet. In every patisserie in Paris it is offered in various colors, representative of their corresponding flavors: pistachio green, lemon yellow, chocolate brown, raspberry pink and light cream-colored, the most exquisite combination of caramel and salt.

It is believed that its origin is Italian, since it was Catherine de Medici who, when she married Henry II of France, introduced the delicacy to the Gallic kingdom. They are crunchy and very sweet, based on almond flour, egg white and sugar.

Sometimes, to oxygenate and energize yourself, you just need to organize a little getaway that takes you out of the routine to appreciate the beauties that await you, just a quick detour from your comfort.
